Chapter 1 - The Overview of Creation
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."
Earth's beginning is described as formless, watery, with God's active force moving to and fro over the surface.
Day 1 - Light brought forth, "Day" and "Night" named.
Day 2 - Division of waters, the waters above and the waters below. Expanse called "Heaven"
Day 3 - Dry land appears. The waters under the heavens are in one place. Dry land called "Earth", and the waters called "Seas". First vegetation.
Day 4 - Luminaries appear in the sky dividing day and night. The greater illuminary called "Sun" and the lessor illuminary called "Moon". Stars are referenced.
Day 5 - Aquatic and flying creatures created.
Day 6 - Terrestrial creatures created, wild and domestic. Man created and given dominion over the Earth and its creatures and vegetation. Mankind commanded to, "be fruitful and become many, and fill the Earth and subdue it." Vegetation given as food.
