Chapter 6 - Fallen Angels, Nephilim, Noah Builds the Ark
Certain angels found the human women attractive and foresook their station to come down and take human women as lovers and wives.
The union of these produced hybrids known as the Nephilim or "Giants." The Nephilim were large, mighty and exceedingly violent. Their exploits and stories are the source of the various myths and legends across the earth.
Jehovah sees the violence in the earth and notes that the very inclination of man is bad and man's thoughts were bad at all times. God is described as feeling regret for making man and feeling hurt to his heart at how mankind turned out. God also found that the earth was ruined and full of violence. It is stated that ALL FLESH had ruined its way; therefore, God resolved to wipe both man and animals from the earth. A time limit of 120 years was set for this to occur.
There was one man and his family that found favor with God, and that was Noah. Noah was found to be righteous. Noah was father to three sons.
Jehovah told Noah of the upcoming purge by deluge due to the ruined flesh and the excessive violence and instructed Noah to build an Ark.
The specifications for the Ark:
- Build an Ark and fill with compartments
- Use a resinous wood
- Coat it inside and out with tar
- Length: 300 cubits
- Width: 50 cubits
- Hieght: 50 Cubits
- Side Entrance
- A "Tsohar" Roof with a 1 cubit rise
Jehovah covenanted with Noah that whoever entered the Ark with him would be saved along with Noah, his family and the sampling of animals.
Noah was instructed to bring two of each kind of animal into the Ark and to provision it with every kind of food.
Noah did as he was commanded.

The Bible states the motivation for the Angels to leave their station was the attractive women.
This makes me wonder whether there was a curiousity of sex or the knowledge of what they could do using the women and genetic manipulation.
I wonder why they (the fallen angels) were attracted to the sex? It makes me wonder if there is something metaphysical about sex that we humans may not appreciate or experience.
Its my opinion that the pre-flood period is the common basis for all the various world cultural myths. Nearly every culture has myths about Gods marrying women, giants and mighty heros, great wars, fantasic beasts, etc.
I imagine the temptation to Angels was to see Mankind, alienated from God; and saw the opportunity to set themselves up as gods. Many probably participated in the creation, and now they had a free hand to play God.
Its interesting that the pre-diluvian World is described as so violent.
Perhaps with the extremely long lives people had and the extended years to bear children measured in centuries the Earth's population grew rapidly and the one way the Demons saw to to control population was by instituting violence.
Think about it, even starting out at 2 and figuring just 10 children for each family it would not take but a few centuries for the population to be comparable to the earth's population now.
The statement made in Chapter 6 that "All Flesh" was ruined leads me to believe that the demons were copulating with more than just humans.
I am sure they were "playing" with the genetics to see what they could do. There are too many mythological creatures, gryphons, and other half-human, half-animal creatures to think otherwise.
Noah is described as righteous.
Noah was the son of Lamech, and Lamech prophesied when Noah was born that he would be the one to lift the curse on the ground because of Adam.
Lamech fathered sons and daughters. Its sad to think that Noah had brothers and sisters, raised by the same father, Lamech, and yet they did not have the faith or the inclination to join Noah on the Ark.
They probably knew the Patriarchs that Noah knew, and spoke to many of these as had Noah. And yet they did not have the same faith.
